Mark88man - welcome and hi - I'll put your budget on the front page in a mo, you seem very switched on but please feel free to ask any questions you may have, there are lots of lovely clever people on here who will willingly help out.
MrsM will normally be doing the thread but is indisposed at the mo.
I'll have to update siggy later as a few bits have been bought and DH is on a cheap F&V hunt [he's far better than me at it]
Have a lovely weekend everyone

Just updated my signature as we had a big MR T shop delivered yesterday (£97.35). There was a lot of meat most of it on offer, as well as stocking up on stuff for diabetic DS2 (9p yogs, jaffa cakes & mini Mr T "mars bars"). Still looking pretty good money-wise as we are fully stocked up for a couple of weeks (milk and f&v to be topped up), so we could come in well below the £370 limit I set - hear's hoping. One day I will be well enough to go into supermarkets and look for whoopsies...DH not really geared up to looking yet.
DS2 has come back from 5 days walking in Snowdonia (AS Level PE stuff) none the worse for wear, but quite hungry (nothing changed there then!). His main complaint was that they had stopped off at BK on the way to and back from Wales...he reckons there is very little "good protein" in a Big Mac and never wants to have a "junk meal" again. RESULT!!!:j
Last night we had HM spag bol (no oats or lentils added as I was ill and had to leave it to DH to finish making it - tasy though, but there should have been more left over to freeze!) and tonight will be HM pizza. I will have a small one with a few lumps of melted low fat Mozzarella, still avoiding as much fat as possible. We will have bread pudding tonight (don't add marg/butter) made from left over dry croisants (this time), skimmed milk, a couple of eggs and a handful of raisins. A great way to use up left overs, and to fill up DS2 during the evening (usually have "pudding" at suppertime around 9.30/10.00).
Right, off to whizz the soup to have for lunch, and perhaps get some bread started.
Have a good weekend folks, here's hoping for a weekend of 2 NSDs.

Lunch/dinner today was roasted chicken breasts stuffed with morrisons own stuffing (about 15p) and lots of roast veg, very nice. Unfortunately OH had to go out to core drill a hole just as I was making it so his is waiting to be re-heated
I have just made a batch of chocolate muffins and peanut butter cookies...thanks to the recipes at the beginning of the thread :T I read through loads of them and it was tricky working out which to make first-they all look so delicious! cookies are yummy, may have to try a muffin now just to make sure they're edible...Sept GC lost track/£160

Hi - could you let me know how you got on with the muffins [looking for a recipe that makes the big ones and that is tasty but struggling to decide which one!!!] Thank you Helen x

Ok, just done my first spend of Octobers GC today. Felt a bit sad having to update sig to say i'd spent some money. I know it wsa only 86p for 2 pints of milk, but I wanted to avoid spending until I do the main shop on Monday.
I've been a good girl and for once kept my receipt and I've even written it down in a little book. Wonder how long that organisation will last:whistle:
Off to make dinner now, spinach and ricotta canelloni. All stuff already in fridge/cupboard etc... and my HM bread should be ready at the same time to serve with it. Mmmm.... yummy!

just looking at your sig jayward - dropping from £100 to £60 in one month is a bit drastic; baby steps!this isnt a criticism, because I dont know your situation and I apologise if you made that decision for circumstances I'm not aware of, but generally the advice here is to lower your budget gradually

Hi All,
Declaring this weeks shopping spend £38.91
Broken down as follows:
Aldi £9.10
Asda £18.21 (did stock up on a couple of special offers that will get used in time as have long shelf life)
Butchers £11.60
Got £59.30 left for the rest of the month (2 weeks)
Week 1 :£37.28
Week 2: £39.51
Week 3: £38.91
Been reading previous threads about freezer building blocks and my OH thinks I have finally lost it as aldi has 29p a bag carrots and I got three bags saying I can make a bag into soup, a bag can be blanched and frozen and we need some for this week. Right he says, minstrels are on offer three bags for £4, one for eating today, one for eating tommorrow and one for the cupboard - he didn't sulk much when I replied but theyre not on the list so we are not buying them! And we didn't!!!!
