Phew glad the whole bank holiday thing has been cleared up, i thought for a moment all my friends were having me on!
So an appeal for naivety would be completely fruitless then? I mean it is pretty confusing that each council should have their own rules and some areas differ from others.
I will have to get my friend to check if bank holidays are free on the signs... I'm not hopeful though, they tend to know how to cover their bases do they not... :rolleyes:0 -

Yes, an appeal for naivety would be fruitless I think.
But maybe you can appeal on another technicality to do with the lines & signs or the wording of the PCN? You would need to post photos of the front & back of the PCN with your car details blanked out, and pics of the bay and signs - or maybe a Google Street view link, pinpointing where you were parked.
Someone on here may then be able to advise if there's any grounds for appeal. If you are serious about wanting to explore the possibility of an appeal - on any grounds that can be found - then I would also register sharpish on www.pepipoo.com and post your pics & questions there as well as their forums are more specialist with advice on appeals & technicalities.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yesterday wasnt a bank holiday, just a public holiday in some areas.
Some areas in Scotland had a public holiday last monday some yest and some next week.0 -
Why do some areas of scotland get an extra days holiday?0
-
All of Scotland gets one extra day, January 2nd. The days mentioned in the posts above are not bank holidays but local holidays in lieu of bank holidays ( but most of the banks are closed on some UK holidays). Confused ..... you should try living here0
