If this is re Disneyland Anaheim I can recommend the Holiday Inn which is a short walk away from the park. Unlike in Florida Disneyland CA is right off a main road and within easy walking distance from a number of hotels.

were also thinking about going, with 4 adults and 1 child. We phoned a travel agent and the best deal we could find was about £2,800 without the park tickets (end of august time) for 2 weeks.

Ive had a look on ebay and ive come accross disneyite. they offer a guide or something which tells you about discounts. costs about £10. theres also guides like
“The Ultimate Disney World Savings Guide”.

has anyone tried any of these?

It is definitely better to buy before you go, there are several ticket outlets online. I recommend you venture over to http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums where you will find a world of information on parks, tickets & everything Orlando :T

when we went, we stayed on international drive, and hired a car. we loved being right in the middle of things, with the freeway at the end of the road, sea world 15 mins away, universal virtually right next door, disney only 20 mins away. busch gardens was just over an hours drive, kennedy space center about 45 mins (the nascar speed ring thingy is about same distance that way if you are so inclined).

busch gardens is a nice day out which is often overlooked because it is not in the center of orlando. whether you are a rollercoaster fiend or you have kids who like animals, its worth doing at least once. not that much there for kids in the way of rides, but it is a completely different experience to what you get an animal kingdom. not necessarily better or worse, just different.

have never stayed on disney property before, but my nan raves about it. i guess it all depends on what you want from your holiday - and until you work that out, there's only so much we can do to point you in the right direction :D

  • You should always, in my opinion, consider staying in a private villa rather than a hotel....

    Villa rental v hotel?
Staying in your own private villa, and not being tied to hotel regulations is a big advantage.
    • Staying in a villa you have a private pool and spa - you do not have to fight for the best sun spots and deck chairs every morning.
    • The price of a villa is for the entire home, not just a room!
    • Full use of a fully equipped kitchen and washing facility, cook when and what you want.
    • Security! With only your family in and around your belongings it's more secure.
    • Having an entire house to your disposal the family can choose individually what time to retire to bed - in one hotel room you have to be conscious of disturbing others.
    • TVs & DVDs in every room plus the use of Playstation or X-Box
    • Cheaper to 'eat in'

  • Hi

We have booked a villa for next summer (2008). Has anyone any idea when flights will go on sale for July 2008? Thanks
