Halifax 0% card question

Hiya,

Firstly I'm new to all this so you may have to bear with me. Anyway, to the question.

I've just applied for a Halifax credit card ... was declined the first time because I didnt have a job but I've managed to get one (finally after 6 months of nothing :)) so I reaplied and recieved a letter from Halifax saying that I missed a call off them and that I need to ring them back.

Now, I'm wondering ... can I go into a branch and give addional details because there is a problem with my landline and I cant hear over the crackling and it would cost a fortune by mobile.

So, I'm just wondering whether you think this would be possible or do I have to complete this over the phone?

thanks :)

Not everyone has minutes on their mobile...

Don't see why you couldn't do this in branch.
Alternatively, can you not use someone else's phone - e.g. friends, family, etc?

If you do go into branch, remember to take two pieces of ID with you, at least one with your address on it.
  • Hi and thanks for replying. I dont have minutes, unfortunatly, so that one is not an option.

I'll go into the branch tomorrow before work, and I'll remeber to take two forms of ID (thanks for reminding me :))
  • It'll be to sell you PPI etc...... saved yourself a wasted call me thinks lol

How did you apply for this card?
    Did they instantly accept you?

Well I applied on the net and recieved a letter saying that I'd missed a phone call off them and that they wanted to take a few more details. So, I'm not too sure whether it was accepted or not, TBH.

I received a letter offering me a credit card too this morning. I stopped banking with them when I was 16 and swapped to natwest.

The credit card offer went straight into the bin :)

No, I didnt get any of that. My letter says this:

Thank you for your recent application for one of our credit cards.

In order to continue to process you application, addional infomation is needed to properly assess your request. We have unsuccessfully attempted to contact you by telephone over the last few days to discuss this with you.

Please contact ... blah blah blah ...

So, I'm not sure what else they need to know because I provided all the infomation they asked for on the net. So much for instant decission, ay lol

I would suggest going into the branch and trying to sort it out from there. However, if they can't do it over the counter, most branches have a phone on which you can make calls to the relevant Halifax departments for free.

I have done this before, so hope it works for you.
