You can't make the title bold, why would you want to?

Is the normal MacBook/Pro not portable enough for you?

Unless you find it too heavy, it's a better buy than the MacBook Air. But if you want very slim portability the Air is best.

Hold a 13" MacBook Pro in your hands, and do the same with a MacBook Air. Consider the price difference, and the better specs of the MacBook Pro, and you can make your decision. How much do you really, really want that thinner laptop?
January might be a while to wait, but we can't advise you on that. They'll just be improved specs I'd imagine rather than anything radical. Although the MacBook (the plastic one) is meant to be getting a revision. Maybe that'll happen in October.
Waiting for the next big thing is a very boring game to play...

The MacBook Air is a very nice computer; it's very portable owing to how light and thin it is, and it's absolutely gorgeous.

But, you pay for that portability by having to spend more (£1149 vs £899) and by having a slower processor, less RAM, less storage space, no DVD drive, fewer on-board connections, and a shorter battery life.

Portability aside, the MacBook Pro is a much better machine, and that's the one you should go for. It's still lighter and thinner than most other laptops on the market.

    thankyou for your advice

i see what you mean about the air spec-- it is quite a bit lower as is battery,

so think will go the pro route, (hope i dont regret in december as the rumour is the new apple might be a tablet machine like a netbook)

    thanx again all

Titles are bold when the thread has unread posts.

Don't forget to check out the Apple Refurb Store. Everything there is as new and comes with a full warranty, but they're quite a bit cheaper. The stock changes frequently, so if you don't see the model you're after, keep checking back regularly.

i've been looking and everyone points at the new macbook pro

i thought i would be happy with the macbook (current white)

RAM can be ugraded easily apparently from 2gb to 4gb for about £50. while a 120bg harddrive would be sufficient, and back up on external

    thanks
  • There are rumours that apple are about to bring out a redesigned version of the cheaper White MacBook so it might be worth waiting a few weeks. Even if you don't want or need the new spec apple usually discount the old models at places like PC World to get rid of the stock.
