  • AND,

With delivery dates likely to be early November, would I be better (when it comes to later trade in) buying for delivery on 1st January; a lot better or a little better?

From personal experience I can tell you that Broadspeed and Autoebid are ok. My wife bought from Broadspeed a few years ago and she got a brand new Renault Clio for thousands off list. It came direct from Renault.

I used Autoebid about a month ago with a successful result, beating the reserve price and bettering my finance quote from anywhere else. I am still waiting on the delivery of my new car from the successful dealer but all seems ok so far.

As for your idea to wait until January, doesn't VAT go back up then?

I am reading this with interest - as I am looking at a new kia sorento (and posted earlier asking for anyone of any experience of motor provider.com, who seemed cheapest...but not put my toe in the water so far as the brokers are concerned yet - think I will look into that).
Your comments about VAT situation are very useful - I am tempted to hang on until Feb (when the new sorento comes out to get bigger discounts on old model, which will do me fine, but the VAT change might just offset any savings I could make....oh heck it's complicated :)

Motorprovider, yes I bought a car from them too back in 2006! They were based in Sheffield then but I think they may have moved to Chesterfield now in a proper showroom?

I have no complaints about them at all. I bought a Renault Megane CC for thousands off list and got very cheap finance too. All this was done over the phone but backed up by plenty of good paperwork. When I collected my Car it was presented very well and I have no complaints at all. It was a brand new Car with 3 miles on the Clock and I was the first name on the V5.

Oh - that's good to know - yes they seem to be in Chesterfield.

They do charge for delivery, but I thought if I used them I'd go and pick it up....a little adventure if you like :p

Did you do a part ex with them? If so, how did that work? Reason I ask is that I have a LR discovery which I may be interested in PX - depending what they offer me of course...but she is just out of tax and I was going to SORN her - I'm wondering if I paid for delivery and they collected that might be a way around the need to put 6 months tax on her just to get her to Chesterfield?

My GF got a Fiesta from them about 2 years ago. No hassle at all and would definately do business with them again.

    Thanks

I did check the Broadspeed site but they wanted my email address so I didn’t progress it. The autoebid site was arguably the easiest and most useful site to use; I also spoke to them by phone and they answered all my questions and in fairness to them they say that the price they quote is a maximum price and could be lower.

VAT – yes I knew about that, ti does go up on 1st January; I wondered whether I could pay up in December for delivery on 1st Jan and pay the December VAT rates?

    .

dealdrivers.co.uk – no discount – their site says – “On Nissan we do not currently maintain a matrix of order prices”

I went and collected it too. I got the train up and then drove it back which was about 150 miles but quite a nice way of getting to know my new car.

No I didn't part ex anything with them unfortunately.

I've just looked at Broadspeed (my e-mail is for work anyway so don't mind giving it!) - have to say that even with the stock (not first reg) discount they are still coming in at £2000 more than motor provider.
I checked the dealdriver site too - and they don't do Kia :(
With the autobid thing do you have to commit to buy if it's within target price? What are their fees?
