dell asking for £541

i was having a few difficulties with my battery/charger or adapter so i sent in my laptop to dell to get it repaired and i got a call from dell telling me there was a fault in the motherboard and if i wanted to ..i could get it repaired for £541 i could buy 2 new laptops from that £541 do you think this is fair? wat should…

I have a DELL 4600, No problem with the machine in the last 3 year's!
Under UK Law though, all goods are covered automatically under the manufacturer's warranty.
Don't pay them a penny, if they refuse, take them to court. They will lose and pay all the court fees.
