Did you have an agreement with the company though?
    Is it fraud?

£266.00? That would be the total of the charges which would be for last month since the charges come out 21 days after your statement date.

Well you have an agreement with ebay/paypal so they are within there right to take a payment. They usually notify you via the email address you registered the account with.

  • havent been notified and yea they have a right but my bank shouldnt have let them as no money in the account or overdraft facility as its just a cash account, and also ebay should have notified me by mail as well as email

Is it a step account or a cash account?

As a cash account you cant have direct debits and standing orders set up on it !!

I am not saying not to reclaim the money but no bank worker can say 100% that with an account without an overdraft that you cannot go overdrawn. Furthermore, if you know how the charges work then you can take control of them rather than end up in a cycle of charges. Remember, if you buy something on Ebay then you pay for it through a nominated payment method or if you sell something then the same applies. Worth checking which email you have(I have 3 that I regularly check so I know it can be difficult).
