opening a share trading account

they want me to some ORIGINAL documents...Well, no way will i be sending my passport or DL nor will i fork out around 5 quid for special delivery (unless iii want to foot the bill)

Therefore i'll be taking my business elsewhere. Thank you very much

Do you ever have any trouble opening any other types of accounts? Financial institutions are required to do identity checks to comply with money laundering rules. Most of them use one of the CRA's like Experian. If the electronic checks are not successful then you could be asked for further ID.

one very big difference. you can come into branch and show your documents which is not much bother or sometimes they even allow you to post photocopies.

Here they want me to post original passport or DL...I'm not that silly.
