Firstly Ford wouldnt be shelling out thousands.
By letting the customer know which dealer had a car he was after the customer could get his order at the agreed price.
Only cost would be if his particular build was not available and they elected to give him Free MP to get a match. Retail cost of MP is a few hundred quid but actual cost to manufacturer is peanuts.
Ford is probably one of the most overmanaged companies out there with more people with supervisor, manager, and director titles than you would believe. Until a few years ago there were 40 plus levels of management and the only way you knew if you were important was if you were able to park in the underground car park at Warley.
Go back 5 years and if you wanted a training course (or a siginifcant order of stationary) costing more than £100 then it required sign off from European Sales Director in Germany.
If OP wants his car at the price he has agreed he can have it. Am just trying to advise on best course of action.0 -
The "shell" was meant to signify that it wouldn't cost that much in realitity- think it should of been inverted comma's technically.
Ah the European sales director signing of stationary orders.......I've heard it all now. Surely if anyone it would be the finance Director? Next John Flemming will be signing of stamps.
I think you've misunderstood how the whole MFR dealer thing works.
Anyway i digress since you obviously work at Ford we'll agree to disagree.
Good luck OP a buz to Ford will help (regardless of the semantics of what actually happens there after).0
