Help needed! Blocked Vodaphone

I was given a Vodaphone mobile and Vodaphone PAYG sim as a Christmas present. This is my first mobile and I have messed up big time! I tried to input a PIN (several times!) and now have a message when I switch on the phone which says "PUK Blocked" and I can't do anything except call the Emergency Services. ::)

Does anyone know if
a) Can I get the phone unblocked or will I need to get a new sim?
b) Is there anyway to retrieve the stored data and/or recover the credit I put on the phone?

if you get puk blocked then the sim card is now useless, if you speak to the network they can send you a new sim card (unless you have a spare) and transfer your credit over from the other sim card.

there is no way to get the info from the sim card now

I thought you just phoned your network for the puk code and they gave you it and that your sim wouldnt be usless till you had input the puk code wrong 10 times then it killed you sim, give vodafone a call see what they say.

if you read his post again he did say PUK BLOCKED, so that shows he has gone way past the PIN BLOCKED ENTER PUK CODE stage.

just call vodaphone they will tell you.
might have to get a new sim?
