What model of printer is it?
If you've installed the drivers, then the file is probably already on your PC, and it's just looking in the wrong place for some reason.
Do a file search (F3 is the usual shortcut) for hpoc4403.gpd - make sure the search options are set to include hidden and system files, and that your search area includes all the drives you have - choosing My Computer or local harddrives will do that.0 -
its a hp c4480 I will check for the file0

I havent installed anything new recently...
I deleted everything HP off my computer and reinstalled the basic drivers for the printer, its now showing I have a printer but when I went into publisher to print what I need the same error comes, I have tried the system restore but it didnt help.
I just donno what else to do0 -
Have you tried printing from any other program? Could you try printing from notepad please and see if you get the same error?
Did the file search find the file?0 -
You could also try a basic test print from within the printer setup - sometimes applications can confuse things.
Try installing something like CutePDF writer. This will allow you to print to a PDF file - which will show if printing in general is working.
If this is ok, try printing to the HP, but select "print to file" - this will show us if the printer driver is working correctly.
If this works, you could be looking at a printer fault. Do you have a different PC you could try it on.
If you try these, you should hopefully get a clue to where it is going wrong0 -
HTML I didnt do a search because I had already started deleting everything... I have got the printer settings print directly and it works like that on notepad... as soon as i put the setting back I get the error0

I'm a little bit confused now.
Is this an accurate description of where you're at?
1. You've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer driver at least once.
2. The printer driver is currently installed.
3. When you disable print spooling, you can print from notepad.
4. When you re-enable print spooling, you can no longer print from notepad.
Is that correct? If so, can you print from publisher with print spooling switched off?0 -
HTML thats correct... publisher printed once for me then froze? maybe its that causing it0

go to
start>then Control Panel>administrative Tools>Services>scroll down to print spooler>right click it>click properties>make sure you are on the general tab>go down to startup type and make sure its on automatic (if not then change it , click apply , then change it back) >then hit apply>then click the start button under the service status>apply again>hit OK.
now exit all of the services and administrative tools and go to where your printer and faxes are located and now try to install a printer or try to print.wins so far:- absolutely nothing, not even an arguement:mad:0
