NatWest E-ISA over 50 allowance

7 mins past midnight so it's now 6th October but having tried to transfer the top-up amount from my current account to my Cash ISA Plus, Natwest online still says it's not possible as it would take me over the limit...ho hum :mad:0

Yes i have just tried to top up and message comes up that i've exceeded my annual limit - i am 56 years old. I rang last week and was told that you would be able to top up on the 6th but i could have placed a sure bet that this wouldn't happen as my faith in the NatWest has somewhat diminished since opening this E Isa account. Their right arm doesn't know what their left arm is doing!0

Glad to say that I have now topped up online! Natwest computers now accept it's 6th October!0

They probably don't expect over 50s to be up before 9 a.m.petunia987 wrote: »Glad to say that I have now topped up online! Natwest computers now accept it's 6th October!

I have just been into the nationwide and was told you could not invest extra allowance until after your 50th bday. i too was under the impression it was after the 6th october.0

It is after the 6th October - Nationwide obviously haven't read the HMRC ISA Bulletin - http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/isa/bulletin14.htmmighty_hammers wrote: »I have just been into the nationwide and was told you could not invest extra allowance until after your 50th bday. i too was under the impression it was after the 6th october. From 6 October 2009, the ISA subscription limit will increase to £10,200 for anyone eligible to invest in an ISA who was born on or before 5 April 1960 (that is, who will be aged 50 or over during the current tax year). Up to £5,100 of the new ISA allowance can be saved in a cash ISA with one provider.0 -
I have now topped up my NatWest E-ISA and all seems OK.
Thanks to every one who helped with this query.0
