OR....save yourself a packet and go refurb, e.g. check out argos' ebay clearence shop..refurb lappys with plenty of clout for what you want to do with it for £250-£280 with 12 month warranty......something like this:-

Spend £500 and you can have much better spec, but it will probably not last any longer. I now buy cheap and replace every 3-4 years.0 -

i had a quick look and looks like you need to order from uni campus
cousin is at uni so i could put it through my credit card
shame missed the £145 rebate as could have brought an ipod touch and sell it for say £100 and bring the £750 down to net £650 ;-)0 -
I had a dell inspiron 1300 and it fell to bits, ive had 5 chargers, a motherboard , hard drive , a new screen and new fan , luckily under warranty so its sort of put me off dell for now
What do you expect from a inspiron, its a budget machine. The XPS is premium laptop, as for other business models.Kind Regards
