Hi,
I am planning on buying a new laptop as work are taking mine off me when I go on Maternity leave.
It will prob be the Acer Aspire 5536 with vista installed.
I have a lot of documents in publisher/word/excel so would I need a professional version to get publisher?
Also if I took the upgrade to windows 7 would say offiice 2003 be compatable? What is the cheapest way of getting office? I am a teacher so don't know if any deals are available? (Running 2003 at mo on xp & vista - I think!!)

There used to be a student and teacher version of Office available so dont know if that covers you but it was a lot cheaper - about £90
In terms of the new office version it is backward compatible with previous versions of office, you just need an add-in which is downloadable and you can also choose to save files in the 2003 format - the difference is in the end suffix on the file name.
You could always try open office as a free alternative.!!0 -
Thanks, would I be able to open my office docs in open office tho?
I just want the cheapest way of being able to use my files am used to office 2003 so not bothered about having the newest software. Just cheapest way of opening my files and adding new ones.[0 -
