I had a slightly scary experience while dog walking neighbours labrador earlier..Jess waded into pond, and I didn't want lead to get wet, so dashed after her(as I had let go of lead in error),only to find the mud round the pond was quick-sand like, and nearly 3 ft deep!!! I rapidly sunk up to knees, and was heading for mid-thigh level, and totally stuck-it was like glue.Luckily DD was with me, and not in mud so she pottered around and found some branches, which we lay on the ground close to me, and I wriggled out snake-like on my belly on the branches. Had to leave expensive wellies in mud, then turn myself round and head back out to mud and pull said wellies out-I wasn't leaving them there! Staggered home looking like a swamp creature and straight into the bath....a bit scary really, and good job DD was with me....
Oh dear - that's not good at all.
Just remember in future though, it's only a lead - and ultimately - it's only a dog."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Buffy, you must be fuming, it really sounds like your mum doesn't appreciate you or what you do.
SRM that sounds scary, glad it turned out ok.
Z, yes, different to the last one! He asked me where I want to be in three months and how they can help me get there, his attitude was totally different to the last worker.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

Yeah, I feel like a cow now tho! She does appreciate me, but she does have the mum thing of she can say anything she thinks to me. Her good points outweigh that by a LONG way tho, for example she picked me up from work when I was ill, she is right now cooking dinner, she is really lovely and when I was in hell at work last year she was really good about me being a stroppy cow.
So I should stop now and be grateful.

Buffy, I know you feel guilty about ranting about your Mum on here, but we're your friends, so we are the ones you CAN say this stuff to. We know you just need to get it off your chest, and your Mum isn't actually a bad person. So rant away if it helps you then deal with her better. And stop feeling guilty."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Buffy, you should tell her when things hurt you. Say something like ' i know you are love me, but when you say x, it really hurts my feelings and makes me feel rubbish/belittled/etc.../etc/....'.
Yes she is your mum, but you are a grown up and you are allowed to have feelings and express them.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500 -

I only have to cover one Saturday late shift every three months so it's not too bad...just a bit of a pain! Means the kids *should* be in bed asleep when I get home too. :T
Don't beat yourself up over the diet hun, you were tiny when I met you in Weymouth, and you've lost weight since then!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
