burning photos to dvd-r

have burnt my photos to a dvd-r disc plays back on pc but cant play it on my dvd player it comes up as no disk where did i go wrong any help out there

Possibilities are:
Did you Finalise the DVD
Player is not a DVD machine?
Not burnt as a data disc..photo disc..
Wrong brand of DVD..some players are fussy, might need the + DVD type

dvd was finalised ,and burnt as a data disc will try dvd+r and see what happens thanks

if you've burnt a data disk, then the dvd player probably won't understand that, as all you have is loads of jpegs on a disc...

a pc or a mac will understand that no problems, but you need to find out what format of disc your dvd player wants to show a slideshow...

i just tried to burn pics onto a dvd yesterday and couldnt manage it.
Anyone able to help?

I would guess your dvd player wont be able to display loads of jpegs ,as Marky has said

I have used picasa...free from google ,burns even cd for tv ,ideal never had problems ,even to email batch of pics to NZ
