Yeah, he's good-looking and all that, but just a bit neat and classic for my tastes. I prefer my men a bit rougher round the edges. Plus, given I was only about 3 when glam rock was at its peak, and therefore missed out on Marc Bolan and David Bowie when still gorgeous, Noel Fielding is the closest I can come to that sort of look, in someone who has the benefit of being both alive and not yet collecting his pension.

I don't think Noel Fielding is very metrosexual - he's just an old-fashoned bloke who wears make up, tight trousers, spangly stuff and regularly kisses Russell Brand. Or what is the definition of metrosexual?

Maybe we can all agree on Johnny Depp. Surely every sane woman must fancy him. Plus some men?

Who wants to be fighting with a bloke over who gets first dibbs of the eyeliner?

I do kinda like dress up though, Captain Jack certainly did it for me.

Oh, didn't say I wanted to be married to Noel. (No, I want one who can do manly things like lift things and stuff.)

Just that I would, to use Generali's parlance, be more than happy to give him 'one'. Or several.

    Excellent, thanks Carolt.

Been trying to think of the word metrosexual since last night but couldn't for the life of me remember it.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I just had to look it up - it was wageslave who used it. I thought it meant kind of men who are into male grooming and stuff - doesn't float my boat either.

I prefer grungier men, definitely - but not fussed if they wear eyeliner or not. How about you, Sue?

    Are you a Depp-o-phile too?

Metrosexuals moisturise and carry messenger bags.

Captain Jacks sexuality might be a bit dubious but you just know he never ever plucks his eyebrows.

Oh well, Noel probably is a metrosexual then. Definitely got a bag. Can't comment on the moisturising, sadly.

Still, I won't hold it against him. :)

I wouldn't say carolt's bloke fits into my idea of metroseual. I think DH is metroseuual, he does moisturise, he'll buy the right ''womans stuff'' when I need it and with out complaint or embarrassment, babies the animals and he wears pink. But he also is enjoying tinkering with his new car, doing all the heavy lifting, wouldn't dream of letting take out rubbish/clean loo/do something smelly if he is home. His first DIYproject was incredibly bold and difficult, yet brilliantly done: he tiled the floor of our then bathroom with ungraded slate (so had to make the levels right, and he did, it was brilliant an yes non-home owners who have done home imrpovement).

Whilst this programme highlighted the plight of Harris Tweed, it also did a bit of injustice in terms of how the Outer Hebrides and those living and working here were portrayed.

There are plenty of opportunities for tourists visiting the islands to buy items made from Harris Tweed. Not only can you buy items of clothing such as jackets, hats, scarves and wraps, but home furnishings, such as cushions, throws and rugs as well as bags, toys, teacosys and cafitiere warmers. Some of these items can even be viewed when crossing the Minch by Cal Mac ferry.

Some of the items that are currently being made can be viewed on the following websites:

OK People...I 'get' tone in internet posts..so you will have to imagine my tone here. :D I sure don't want to be labelled ''contemptible'' again.

Thank you Nessie, I stand corrected.

Could those at The Back...:hello:....Hallo.........pls come forward and refrain from gossiping about Top Man Totty. Now sit here at the front quietly pls.
Whilst I totally understand that Top Man Totty is Very Important in day to day life..this thread poses serious questions over how UK perceives and manages it's heritage products.....

    So.....

Could all those discussing Top Man Totty, pls be advised that 3 hours of very worthy BBC4 telly watching is a pre requisite of comment here.

A* to Nessie who has caught me out. As a typical Southerner/Londoner (who has only been to Glasgow once a very long time ago and that was to buy vintage clothing imported from USA) I took the BBC4 edit as Gospel. I humbly cede to the fact that there are masses of varied HT products that one can buy as a tourist on the isles.

Do those on the thread want a PN style resume from moi to save them time actually watching the prog? I am happy to oblige.:D

Anyway.......it was a truly painful programme that illustrates how a few useless types can take down whole communities with their ineptitude.

Now, if I wasn't so dam busy earning a living to support my slightly non MSE lifestyle and so involved in Trashtastic, disposable products that no-one really needs at all (albeit Made in UK), I would muscle in on it for sure.
There is an opportunity just sitting there waiting to be sorted out.

The HT industry needs some zap and spark.........
