I wish you'd stop using acronyms, or am I the only one left mystified by some of them? So much for 'clever' eh?
Yes I am insensitive - I am a male. It kind of goes with the territory. To compound this problem I don't alway give a !!!!!!.
Can I ask a personal question Mewbie? What do you do for a living?Retail is the only therapy that works0 -
It's not fair but then life is rarely fair.
Anyway, had more thoughts about tweed and a design idea (it helped me sleep last night), how about that pop diva having a basque or bustier type top with a bolero jacket...sexy but dependable at the same time.
Oh and warm.....best not wear it for concerts then, just for photo shoots.
Pulling the thread back onto topic
..albeit with a dishy type............
SS the singer wears corsets made of H tweed...so you are spot on
A* To SS..and a B to LIR for trying to pull it back.
I think I am going to have to tell the tale meself as seems no-one is going to watch the progs.
DS would find them interesting I think.
Sheep fleeces are only worth £1 nowadays and are often just burnt as it costs more to shear the sheep than the fleece is worth......so much for our love of Chinese Made Acrylic/Poly blend yarns.
I have to go have dinner now so will attempt a PN style resume later on.
Snag is, I don't have her memory for detaill so it will all be 'The woman who..'' or The bloke who.....'''
Nature/Nurture debate....can go on forever that one.
From adversity, humans create great things. It's why we don't live in caves anymore.
Just for Mewbie....someone posted your area...so near yet so far.;)0 -

Your first post about it did trigger my interest fc.
Watched all 3 of these this week.....brilliant documentary.....only IMHO of course and topical to this board as we are meant to be exporting our way out of trouble and to secure our futures.
It was just the thought of 3 hours of concentrated viewing on the Tweed industry.. thought it might be slow going (which is why I also enjoy PN's tv quick reviews) - but I bet I'm being narrow-minded and I bet there is a lot more to it. I'll watch the first episode this evening.

Well one man's 'clever' is another man's idiot.
Some of the most intelligent people I have known have been either incredibly obtuse, or buffons. The buffons are the cleverist, because they pretent to be obtuse and arrogant when really they are not, possibly quite the opposite. Acting the fool requires intelligence: itherwise it wouldn't be ''acting''. being a fool is something else entirely.0 -

This has interested me for ages. Because of course, I know sheep farmers who say just this. (and rare breed sheep farmers getting more for desirable fleeces for rugs) BUT one of he things self build things always say about green sheepskin insulation is how expensive it can be. Is it because there is still a limited pool diversifying?
Is it Tomterm who has sheep, where is he? He might read more up to date sheep stuff than I do:o0 -

see now, for non regulars, I have to protect Tomterms reputation. He keeps hebrideans I think.

FOR PEOPLE TO LAZY OR TECHNOPHOBIC FOR IPLAYER:
show called ''tweed'', seemingly about tweed on BBC 4 right now.
Annoyingly I have no bbc 4 signal tonight. (its really temperamental, and I'm a bit worried I won't have any tv after the 30th thingy. )
also, slightly on topic, my rooster is called Tweed. (actually, he is called Sir Tweed, but we're on friendly terms. )0
