I agree with the last posted, this is likely to be down to the internet rush hour kicking in. Do the latency times improve later on in the evening?

You can also try CCCleaner to clear all your temporary files and stuff.
maybe you can try and disconnect your phone at 6 and see if that makes any difference.
Some ISPs also do things like traffic shaping at peak times.0 -
Is it just Wow thats slow after 6pm or internet access as a whole?
Could just be WoW server gets more used after 6pm?
Or if its the internet remember that contention ratios are something like 50:1, so it could just be that everyone in your street is using the internet when they get home from work?0 -

Which will be worse if the particular server he is using is a high load one with lots of people on it.0 -
Hi,
Thanks for all the tips..I've tried the clean up thing to get rid of files we don't use..I thought it was cos lots of people may have started playing around 6pm, but none of DS's mates have the same problem, and no, it doesn't improve later in the evening, it gets steadily worse, so by about 9pm the lag is in the thousands!LHS No 2220 -

hi there
as a current wow player myself, i know what you are experiencing. some things to consider.
is aol using traffic shaping to restrict your speed? is the server your o/h plays on a high population server? does he use a lot of addons? (not time specific but they all add up).
remember that a lot of people log in during early evenings, due to raid times. this can affect servers badly.
i had a similar problem about 2 years ago, and it turned out to be a line faut. i had to run speed tests via the bt website speedchecker, as this records the data so your isp can access it. speak to your isp about the issue, and dont be fobbed off. they will try to tell you its a setting problem, or a blizzard server issue.
hope this helpsMortgage £242500 on completion

Is it worth trying a different ISP? (and getting cashback from somewhere like quidco topcashback etc in the process?)0
