Just turned up. . .all rather exciting!

Now I need to get to grips with going from PAYG to Simplicity.

I was intending to keep my old T-Mobile number but I really like the PAYG one that's come with the phone. So I'm intending to port that instead.

So first up what do I need to do? Set the iphone up with the PAYG sim to get the free wifi or something else? I want to make sure it's working and dead pixel free before doing the Simplicity deal.

  • I bought my i phone from the apple shop.......I went on line and got double txts and double talk time plus free internet bolt on .....the sim card got sent to me in the post all for 20.00 per month..amazin.......one thing i dont like bout the i phone though is sometimes i cant get no service,,which really miffs me off when my friends with cheap phones can get signals.........ummmmff
  • Well I topped up a tenner just to get it going. I presume I'll lose that when I switch to Simplicity as I'll be porting the PAYG number?
  • yes, you will lose whatever balance if you will be porting a new number...in my case, when I bought my iphone payg...that was the only time I topped up a tenner, and after that, I enjoyed internet for months....I don't use it for calls since I have a company phone. . .

Ok, I did read something about your balance being transferred over to the contract account, but that might've related to a specific sim offer and not Simplicity.
  • Quick further question. . .How long does it normally take for the Simplicity deal to go through and for the SIM to turn up on your doorstep? Will porting the o2 PAYG number make any difference?

It takes as long as royal mail take to deliver it.

Doing a prepay to contract migration takes a maximum of 24 hours.

Presumably from the time the SIM arrives and is activated?
