OH has an O2 PAYGmobile, and was clearing out no longer needed contact numbers. She found 00080*55508. We have no idea what it is or how it got there. Before we delete it has anyone any idea what it could be for?

    If that's it exactly, with the 000 at the front, it isn't a phone number.

    Maybe it's misdial of something that should have been 08000...

    Or did it get saved as a fast way to remember something else? I sometimes dial and hang up to keep a ferry booking reference for a few hours, for example, or sometimes add it to the phonebook
  • I've had silly contacts in my N95 8GB, either i started a new contact but then put it in my pocket and got a random name or number. Sometimes i dont even have to be on a new contact it just managed to hit a few keys and off it goes. I think this is just unlocked keys or kids playing on your phone

    There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies

    @bryanb possible risk!
    @ I wondered if it were a memo, bu then I'd also have a name to the entry, and it woulf be on my phone not the OH's
    @DarkConvict
    Phone in OH's bag, so idea that you put makes sense. Kids unlikely as we are 73.

    Thanks all. :)
