why no debate if not logged in

has anyone else noticed that if you are not logged into the forum you can't see the debate board? is this a recent thing? is it to discourage people from using it? just wondering....

Its because we behave so badly MSE are protecting people (and their reputation to non reg users) from us. I think it was deserved, an probably the best move under the circumstances.

I think it's cowardly. But a lot less hassle for mse than employing proper mods to stop the squabbles.

Personally, I think they should just have kicked out the (very few, well-known) troublemakers, and there would have been an end to all problems.
