Anyone have any opinion on what way the exchange rate will go over the next year or so? Getting married abroad next year and could save a packet if the exchange rate goes in my favour, otherwise I could just book stuff now.

GBP, is only going one way, and that is down. Once the Lisbon treaty is fully ratified I can see the pound dipping below the Euro.

    At the moment downwards.

The election result could give the exchange rate a bounce though.

If the Cons get in our status as Pariahs in Europe will be cemented and you'll not be able to give sterling away

    Or . . alternatively . .

If the Cons get in the markets will react to their stated intention of repairing our shattered finances by breathing new life into sterling . . .

You do realise that any potentially positive new is not allowed on this board?;)
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:
