There's always one - sullying our nice board with facts and reasoned debate whereas the rest of us prefer prejudice and opinion.Amazingly, before the bottom fell out of world trade a year ago, the UK's exports were higher than they'd ever been before.
Spain's main exports (alongside what's already been said) are clothing and more particularly shoes; cars (Ford has a big presence I believe); pottery, electricity and chemicals.I think....0 -

In the UK I think most of us don't work near where we live. A long lunch break is of no use as you're just trapped miles from home hanging about. In the UK though, with just 30-60 minutes for lunch and nowhere to go we end up just staying at our desks and ending up working (for free) just because there's so much work to do and nowhere to hide.0

Gens right about the shoes. This season there are more Spanish Made shoes around than I have seen for years. They are all leather lined ) OK, it's the thin stuff but still....) and all priced on a par with the Chinese imports (which are sythetic lined....yuk).
I read somewhere that UK is one of the biggest producers of processed food in the world? So we are good at adding value to low grade ingredients, packaging them up as delicacies and exporting them.0 -
I have to wear soft Italian leather shoes, because my feet are different widths, so one has to stretch more than the other.
I should look out for Spanish ones then.0 -

They all have the same finish inside. Tan colour, soft, with little pock marks (it's split pigskin which is very cheap..the pock marks are where the hairs used to be).

Always thought it was a third world country. Who still has a 3 hour break over lunch because it gets a bit hot?
If you live only round the corner from your place of work, then it makes sense to go home for three hours to eat and sleep off your lunch and return to the office at 4.00pm for another two-three hours work. Then, because everyone had a relaxed lunch and a little power nap, they are ready for a great nightlife.
I think it's a very civilised way of organising one's day. I was born and brought up in tropical Africa and lived in North Africa for a time, and office hours started at 7.00am or 8.00am, three hour lunch break, back to office for three hours, then go swimming or socialising before eating. No telly, then, you see.YouGov: £50 and £50 and £5 Amazon voucher received;
