I think you have totally misread my post, thats your issue, not mine. I thought the quote was entirely senseless, that does not reflect my opinion of the future market/potential of a crash. You make assumptions.

Op, have you made a choice yet? A house next to a busy road will always take longer to sell, but ultimately they do sell. My original post was a response to whether people though it was a reasonable reduction, which I do.

    Good luck.
  • Many thanks to everyone for some very useful replies (except for eurows who obvously gets his kicks from posting irritating posts).

Coincidentally the house next to this house went on the market for £180K (although I've only seen the interior on the internet it seems a similar state) so I'm going to rely on my original decision as the house is very special in a lot of other ways!

    Thanks again everyone

Like some have said it might not be ideal living so close, but lots of people do, u get a better house for the money. I am sure its double glazed, so not a problem.

Best of luck with the exchange, and all the best for your future.

We used to live near a main road and a railway, and I miss it, now that we have a super-quiet house far away from traffic noise. Any silly little car door banging or kid running along the pavement now wakes me up -didn't notice them in the old house.

As for all this cleaning twice a day... don't people have anything better to do with their lives than watch how quickly things get dusty? honestly!

long live noisy urban areas i say!

triple-glazing is excellent, my parents live next to a busy road which used to drive my dad crazy. its not too expensive and pretty much cuts out all noise.
