I have no credit rating and struggle to even get a Nat-West Step Account (was declined!), but Co-Operative Bank have setup their Cashminder account which gives you alot more than the normal basic accounts.
It gives you the Visa Electron card, internet banking, telephone banking and free branch withdrawls/deposits.
After searching through all the lists this seems to be a good deal!

As far as I am aware, I was advised to bring proof of ID i.e. Passport/Driving licence and also proof of address i.e. council tax bill.
Apart from that, bring yourself!0 -
i cannot work the co-op out as i tried to open a basic account with them they say no credit checks are carried out etc., but then i got a letter saying i was unable to open an account with them i got no explanation or anything p.s i'm not bankrupt no bad debts i'm on the electoral roll and all i wanted the account for was to get my benefits paid into it,any help would be appreciated,thanks0
