Same as all above. Nearly did'nt order in the first place as the offer seemed to good to be true ! Anway took the plunge and received 2 e mails the second giving delivery by Frday before 6pm. I took this as confirmation it was on its way ! After reading the other posts of order cancellations, I rang them. Well what a shower of time wasters, the people who answer the phone hav'nt got a clue ! They then transfer you to a " Specialist adviser " who tells you there is no stock of the item and your order has been cancelled ! ( How specialist is that )
This whole episode makes wonder if the hunt is worth while ! I am pretty new to all this compared with some but after reading other sagas on here " The Ninetendos, 7600s , Argos etc " How much time effort and Money do the big winners spend
A) On line huntingMaking phone calls
C) Writing e mails and letters
To get that bargain !
I love reading the tips on the site, but getting any of the super bargains either eludes me as I am too slow making my mind up ! Or becomes a major Crusade with the retailer. I know for some thats half the fun !
But then again from experiance even normal full price purchases never seem to run smoothly these days !
Maybe I am just felling sorry for myself this morning !

I also phoned them this evening to check when my pressure washer would be delivered (Ordered Monday afternoon)
Was told by young lad at D2D who I could only describe as a 'Space Cadet' (As he certainly wasn't on this planet that's for sure!!!!) that there was no stock and they'd cancelled the order. (No email to notify me of this either!!!)
I then told him the website had let me order it as it was showing in stock and he said he'd put me through to someone else who could help (Someone that may have been on the same planet as me!!!!).Hung on and hung on and nothing.
Sounds the same as i got from discount2doors with my camcorder saga. I rang the customer services number from the website and explained it all to them, then they seemed to have no idea what-so-ever about the actual discount2doors website and kept asking me which catalogue i ordered from! They then tried to put it through as a new order and took all my credit card details said that it would be 620quid. I then pointed out it was only 180quid. They then said "well you`ll have to re-order it from the website.", so i had to explain all over again that it was in a plunge section. They then put me through to someone else, who I had to explain it all to again! Argh! It was like trying to explain something to monkeys. After spending a fortune on phone calls, i resorted to emails and finally thought i had made some progress when one customer service guy apologised and said that they would immediately send the item out. 5 days later, having not heard anything i emailed them again, and the new person clearly didnt read the email thread and told me id have to re-order from their website.! Back to square 1.
I just cant be bothered with the hassle. I need a new camcorder, and having missed out on all the other recent offers, i had hoped id get this one. Maybe i should keep an eye on that bloke on ebay and buy one from him instead!!!0 -
To give them some credit they did reply yo my email asking why they indicated 'In Stock' online when it is clearly misleading and as to why they did not have the decency to let people know their orders had been cancelled..... Here is the reply.
"I'm sorry this is how you feel about our company. Unfortunateley our system isn't on real time so sometimes the stock situation isn't always correct. We do endeavour to contact our customers if the order has had to be cancelled.
Please again accept my apologies on behalf of the company.
"
Their endeavour doesn't seem to have reached many people from this site who ordered then! I also wonder if their lack of real time means that people who ordered early on like me may not get stuff yet people who ordered later on may (given by the comment above whose status has changed to dispatched on this order).0 -
i too did not get an amail stating out of stock, all i got was an email stating delivery friday. logged onto my acct today and found mine was cancelled too.
i think they do this so that we would buy other things with our bargain washer, but not get the washer >:(0 -
Got this email this morning:
Dear Shaun
Thanks for your email about the pressure washer (W92525).
Unfortunately, since placing your order, we have been unable
to obtain any more supplies of the goods and so I have had to
cancel your order. You have not been charged for this item.
Please accept my apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience
this may cause you.
I hope that you are able to select a suitable alternative from
the wide selection available on our website.
If I can be of any further help, please let me know.
Regards
Carol Beatson

Hi There

With regard to your problems, Price Plummet offers are only available on line. We are working on text for the website pages to make this more prominent for you and others, thanks for pointing this out. Please don't try and order these items at these prices on the phone as our call centre advisors can't see the correct price that the internet is selling at. In relation to sold outs when we run out the item should disappear from sale on the internet, occasionally we are finding that they stay up and we take more orders than we have stock, especially when demand comes in very quickly. As a clearance business we have no option but to cancel as we cannot get further stocks. The best team to deal with your queries are our internet customer service team and they can be contacted at enquiry@discount2door.com (we aim to reply within 48 hrs). Hope this helps. Thanks for your feedback, it will help us get better.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -

Thats all very comforting. But firstly, we know its internet orders only and secondly the team you mention isnt the best team as they dont have any idea about the website.
The issues here are the compete lack of communication with regards to orders being cancelled without informing the customer, and then when the customers contacting the internet customer services team they have no idea about the website or how to resolve the problem.
In my example, it took me about 6 weeks of phone calls & emails before I finally gave up. If someone had phoned me (or if the website had told me) the instant i placed the order and notified me that there had been a problem then I could have rectifed the problem instantly. Instead a confirmation was sent out and I was none the wiser, believing all had gone through okay and id recieve my item shortly. Even a cancellation notification days afterwards would have given me plenty of time to find an alternative item elsewhere in plenty of time before Christmas.
Finally im a bit puzzled about "As a clearance business we have no option but to cancel as we cannot get further stocks. ". How come then your internet customer services team would happily take a new order for the identical item but at the full price but not honour my price plunge order at the lower price ??!?!!!0 -
Not sure if this helps, but I bought mine of the following site with no problems. They sell reconditioned models at a fraction of the rrp.
Give them a whirl I'm sure it will make up for some of the dissapointment.
