It just says a Third party company, has made an inquiry against your credit report & A retailer company has made an inquiry against your credit report ???

Weirdly I've just had an alert and found the same message as yourselves. I'll be contacting Equifax tomorrow as I've no idea who these people are :(

have you applied for a pre-paid card?
  • If my memory serves me correctly, Creation operate financial services for 3rd parties such as store cards. So that could include a catalogue.

If you notice the new tv advert for that mens shop Jacamo, it states very quickly something about doing a search. I wonder if they might do some search even if you asked for a catalogue, even before they extend any notion of credit.

    Just a thought.

Hmmm thats a thought. I won a prepaid 5 Euro mastercard and sent off for it last week. As its prepaid wouldn't have expected a credit check though.

Would you care to explain why a pre paid card could trigger a credit search ?
  • Creation is actually Sygma Bank. They operate several credit cards - if memory serves me right they may have/had something to do with Duet. Their main card is Flybe (http://www.flybe.com/card/default.htm)

    Details about Sygma/Creation here: http://www.laseruk.com/creation_about_sygma.html

Regards to the pre-paid card, this has no relevance to the creation, this may be the I.D check because even with a pre-pay card, they have to perform an I.D Verification check and maybe this was what was being referred to?

As above, to check out CorporatePay (which is a pre-paid card) see here: http://www.corporatepay.co.uk/why_prepaid.aspx
