I might see if I can import an upgrade edition from the states, as I have no wish to spend 10 hours backing-up all my data, and reinstalling all the progs I use.

Your data should already be backup up if you have any sense.

10 hours to install your software? Come on.

Why not just buy the upgrade version in the UK?

The problem for Microsoft is that they aren't cool, have never been cool, and will never be cool. They need to embrace their position as one of the world's necessary evils and get on with it.

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

Any business that actively markets itself as 'cool' is effectively taking a loaded gun and pointing it directly at its own foot.

A: That which is 'cool' will almost invariably become uncool, and you'll have no control over how or when.

B: The very act of turning 'cool' into a global corporate identity is only going to accelerate the process of A.

Oh Microsoft, how do you screw up your marketing so consistently?
I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something.

Because the genius that is Bill Gates chose to demonstrate his supreme intelligence by selecting Steve Ballmer as his successor.

I refer you to the comment from the Guardian article I quoted in my previous post:
People also talked about Harold Shipman, but it didn't make me join his surgery.

It's "gotten" everyone talking about how much they disliked Microsoft's last (and prodigiously expensive) stab at producing an operating system.
