  • I've never been sacked - even though I threw a hissy fit when they insisted I must have a lloyds account! HBOS dont make you have a current account with them if you work for them (pro) but how can a bank with that much debt afford to pay me? (con) Its a joy in my office believe me ... like take Fridays we are allowed to wear jeans! crazy! I don't think I can live with the excitement? why do you hate HBOS?

    Haha - we can wear jeans at my work on a friday too then I remind myself, hang on - i'm meeting with a head of finance or fraud director and there's me in jeans and t-shirt trying to be professional? ermmm, :confused::confused:

    Why do I hate HBOS? How long do you have mate? Several things all starting to a year ago I banked with them, £800+ came out my account one day - I rung, they said RoSo had been applied. I was spitting feathers - why? I had over £10k in my accounts so why would they need £800 from me, were they that hard up.......

    It gets worse - a lot worse.... got a few hours? :beer:

  • The truth is they where that hard up! I have had issues with them like the 3k taken out of my account from a cash machine in America all separate transactions in a period of a day. Now I never called them to say I was going to America why would they think it was me doing that? I was in dispute with them for ages went to the ombudsman in the end and got 100 quid for my troubles. You wear a t shirt on fridays? that is crazy I wear a shirt lol! that way when you are sitting down its like casual friday never happened!

    LOL, mate it gets better;

    Part 2

    I then went and applied for a bank account to escape HBOS and to my horror found an incorrect link to some other geezer with same name as me... never lived there so I told them this.

    next I know, I have 12 defaults on my credit files from HBOS - this is why they took the £800 cos they said I owed it......

    so you know what I did? I got one of their credit cards, spend £804.97 the same amount they took, and cut the card up and sent it back with a snotty letter thanking them for keeping my money cos I was a wee bit skint that month.....

    They defaulted me again..... so, they have not only breached every data protection law going, but the CCA, oft guidance, cja the lot! I'm taking them to the cleaners - kerching-gggga! :rotfl:

  • Did you go to the ICO per chance? I may have heard of this case lol! I like your style though and spending the exact money owed to you was a particularly nice touch. Letter is the only way with banks - I always find branch and call centre people nice enough but not the brightest crayons in the box. :rotfl:

    Oh you heard lol :rotfl::rotfl:

    I think they might use it as a training addendum, how not to do things (default me then give me a credit card! lol)....... :beer:

  • I hear everything lol! the irritating thing is its so simple for them to sort out but they just do nothing! No doubt it was the same case but something simular where HBOS was reporting a relatives defaults (brothers of similar age apparently) and the person had complained to the ICO because we where confusing his identity - HBOS is not the best at reporting to credit reference agencies - I wont close my credit card with them in case they declare me bankrupt or something for a 1p balance on my account!

  • I hate natwest too.... I got declined and my score is 999..
    I closed my credit card down for natwest last weekend. On the systems my credit card gone and closed.... I tried to open a new credit card today 26/ september and natwest declined me... The reason they gave was my eligibility i asked them to explain but they could not !!! My credit score is 999 when i last checked in july... I have not missed any payments and have only applied for 1 card which i got accpted in july from where i did a balance transfer from the other cards which i haveclosed down. On my report that i just paid for today, my report has not been updated since the 5th july...is this experian’s fault if this is the case, when i was credit checked today it saw old info hence decline hence another search on my report !!!! Can i do something about this ?...... Or am i just being a wally.. Please can someone advise me thanks !!! Cost me about 6 quid to renew my membership.
  • It is difficult to say who is at fault here. Usually experian will ask you to go to your provider to get them to update your file as they only work with the data they are given. With credit cards it is the banks responsibility to report the data to experian. Natwest should have some sort of data disputes department which can look at your case for you and update your credit file. However if the bank are being "difficult" and for some unknown reason wont update their records you can always put a note of correction in with experian whilst Natwest get their acts together.:j
