Vodafone are selling it from next year (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/09/29/vodafone_iphone/) but the point remains Apple will control the pricing so it doen't eat in to iPod sales. Don't expect a free iPhone anytime soon except on the most expensive tarrifs. I'd be suprised if they drop below £300 sim free, as Apple will keep the network operators in line and the prices high, whatever you think of Apple they price their products as a premium product, not as a cheap items

Don't think they are that cheap anywhere! SIM Free prices seem to be around the £500 mark for the 32GB version and a bit less for the 16GB version, but nowhere near £300 :(

    DOH I meant on PAYG.....
  • Certainly if you just want the older 3G I'm pretty sure the price will drop from 350 quid to something approaching 300- it just depends if Apple keeps making them.
  • exciting news eh?

I work for Orange (don't wanna come across like a salesman) but what I will say is we are bringing the iPhone to our customers this year, and that our 3G Network covers more people in the UK than any other network. Fact.

    good times ahead!

PAYG prices seem to be unsubsidised, so they'll be the same as sim-free. I think maybe the 8GB 3G will drop in price, but not the higher spec 3GS.
