Mobile Contract with Internet and Email Access

Hi,
Im a novice when it comes to mobiles and my 18 month contract with 3 is up in a month. Im on the 300 mins / texts for £15 a month contract.
I never use all my free mins / txts but what id like to have is Internet access and email facility. I know 3 offer this as a bolt on for an extra £5 a month but my Nokia 6120 hasnt got a large screen and isnt much use for browsing.
So im looking for a new contract for around the same price a month. Should I go for a blackberry or touch screen phone? What offers have other networks got that would suit me?
BTW My 3 contract was bought through e2save so I got cashback which made my monthly bills to be around £9 a month. Really helpfull company.. had no probs wih them

Hi, my contract with O2 is ending this month - I paid £20 for 600 mins + unlimited internet + 200 texts. I wanted an I-Phone and they said i have to pay £35 for the same tariff because they have changed their loyalty scheme for existing customers - I have been with them for over 3 years, and apparently that does not matter anymore.

Also, I won't get a new phone even if I renew the contract on the same £35 tariff for £20, even though I got a new phone previously on the same tariff for £20!

Been really happy with their loyalty scheme in the past because they always give existing customers the same deal + a little extra, and now they are not doing it anymore...I wrote to them and I haven't receive any reply yet.

Anyone experience the same problem?

Also look at the 5800, mainly for the wifi, which if you have a wireless network at home, can work out a lot cheaper to use it then internet on top. You can also use most free wifi spaces outside of home too (and lots of places have them)

What about a Nokia E71 or E63? I see 3 are doing Internet texter plans.....

...funny enough I also had a 6120 on 3 too, nice phone but I agree the screen size was limiting. The contract ended last August. Kept the 6120 on PAYG however as the free text/data allowance is included for 3 months for a £10 top-up was better than any other network.

At the time virgin had a offer on a nokia 5800 (I had heard good reviews on this phone) and I have been very impressed with it once I got used to it, I guess its not for everyone and worth going to a virgin media store to try one out.

Was worried about coverage but its fine at home, not sure about other areas yet but check the t-mobile site for coverage however I dont know what will happen as they use T-mobile network at the moment with all the talk of merging with orange it may change.

On a 18month contract I get 1gb internet, 150mins any network calls and 500 text 18months with £30 quidco (its tracked and paid already!!) They must put this on offer every month for a week as I notice its there again until 5th Oct. 3 were not able to match this at all, in fact they even tried to push me into the 24month £20 plan internet/texter (just an extra 50mins calls as far as I could tell but an extra 6months tied in!).

I had been with 3 for nearly 3 years, the last time I phoned up and 'threaten' to leave. They offered me a free Nokia E71, 600 mins, 150 texts and unlimited internet for £10 a month for 18 months. While the text limit seems a little low, with unlimited internet means I can email as most people have push email these day.
E71 is equipped with HSPDA (something related to turbo 3G service, very fast data transfer) and having a Bluetooth enabled netbook, can use the phone as a bluetooth modem for the the internet. No more hefty WiFi charges at places where free WiFi is not available and get up to speed of 125kbs at times! Not bad for email and general browsing.

The deal with mobile phone renewal is, keep your mind open about the kind of phone they offer (of course something you consider decent enough to use) but argue for the best tariff they can provide. They seem to try anything to make you stay in my opinion.

I have a Blackberry Curve, Unlimited Texts, Unlimited Calls, Unlimited Internet, with Email access etc... and I pay £29 a month, including insurance.

I am with O2, so its not a bad deal, but I think it helped by doing it online. I went via dialaphone, and they gave me a free PS3 when I upgraded (was using a SamsungG800 ) my phone. 12 month contract, and I am about 4 month in, and really pleased.

I'd suggest looking online at dialaphone, phones4u etc... as they often give the best deals. I really didn't know what phone would be best, but told them I wanted a phone that would be quick on the net, and get football scores easy, and the sales people sorted the rest out.

Ive got a blackberry bold on 3, i pay £30.00 per month and get 500 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet and email (there is a fair usage policy on texts - think its 3000!!! a month and internet - 1GB, but thats higher than most other fair usage policys.) on a 18 month contract.

Think im right in saying that this is the newest blackberry (on general sale anyway) and has the HSPDA - super fast internet connection and wifi etc. Ive only had mine 2 weeks, but so far i love it!
