We all enjoy your signature, Droopsnout. The post asking for you to remove it was totally uncalled for.
I rather think that Evesham had a point, though.
It makes you wonder what is going on in people's heads sometimes!
As I said before, Evesham is not, I think, a regular poster on this thread (or its predecessors), and possibly isn't aware of the liberties I frequently take with the site, and which the powers-that-be kindly turn a blind eye to!
Don't let it make you feel unhappy about keeping it going, it raises a smile and makes people happy; it's part of the Pigsback thread subculture! :)
Nooooo, I'm not unhappy!! I was much more unhappy when I couldn't get my WorldSpace radio to work this afternoon to listen to the Cup Final. (Cracked it now, though!)

Now that last part, about the PB thread subculture, is a very good one. There certainly is a different feeling in these threads from those you find elsewhere, even on MSE. Must be to do with the length of the threads, and the frequency with which people post, plus the long duration of the topic since it was started off by that splendid chap Ryanski.

This thread is the only one that's keeping me sane while I slave away at my PhD.. one day, I might even write a thesis for it!
    LOL!!

Well, I think a study of these PB threads would be absolutely fascinating. There is the social interaction between its posters, of course, and sometimes disagreements which gives rise to both splits and reconciliations. A number of people have left the threads, too, and it would be interesting to study why, although in most cases it is probably a case of "I've got more interesting/pressing things to do"!!

But there is a certain social unity, a tendency to develop cohesion between contributors, that is quite interesting here.

And then there is the added scenario of Darragh using the thread to promote PB's best interests, too. (That's not a criticism, because I'd do it, too, if I were Darragh). His dealings with those who are critical of Pigsback (including me) are well worth a moment's thought, or even a deeper study.

Yes, there's lots of psychology on here, for those who are interested!

Good luck with the PhD, Misskool! I'd love to be a student again! Happy days!!

I used to do it all at once, then noticed others were editing the answers and were alot faster than me!

You can have the pleasure tonight of posting - i'm shattered after cleaning the conservatory roof and will be having an early night!

I was lucky at guessing some of the answers. Round 2 monday night??:rotfl:

I am really annoyed with pigsback. I haven't been using it long and recommended it to my brother who started doing the clickthroughs. He wanted some travel insurance and clicked on travel insurance in the travel zone to the bottom left of the home page. It then gives a list of insurance policies and points given. Backpackers insurance clearly states 500 points but he has only been given 300. He has sent numerous emails to pigsback only to receive a link back which shows 300 points as the offer. This is a different page to what he used and if I go on pigsback now it still says 500 points. We are reallllllyyy annoyed about this as I am sure it is false advertising if it says clear as day 500 and yet they will only give 300. It was not the cheapest of policies as it is a 3 month worldwide policy. If Darragh could sort this I would be very grateful. His email is ********** and if not he probably won't be buying off pigsback again!

To be honest he should have used a cheaper insurer and saved the money. Then again I'm STILL WAITING FOR THE 300 EBAY POINTS. I am giving Pigsback a trial till the end of May as it might just be that it seems slow compared to other sites. Also without the threads on here I would have already given up the CTs are so hard to find.
