Ugh just wanted to rant.
Moving house in a few days, so figured id be prepared and get contents insurance out.
After doing the usual price comparison sites etc and looking at cashback, worked out that i could get a deal with MoreThan for only £45 over the year. GREAT i thought!
Went to the website, put in all the details of the property ill be moving to, got to the quote page £125 ( £80 cashback from quidco makes it £45!), excellent, filled in my payment details etc, then final page 'Contact details'.
So as im moving in a few days, and currently staying with a relative, i figured i'd put down the address of my local relative as the address to send all paperwork to (i have mounds of things to change over that are currently registered to this relatives house, and im going to be back and forth over the next week or so). Carefully checked the page (said this contact address could be different to that of the property being insured.. great i thought). Filled in the details. Final confirmation page, still £125, confirmed and was greeted with the message .. "Thanks for buying home insurance through MoreThan for XXXX" whre XXX was... MY RELATIVES HOUSE!
OOPS.. i thought. ~Wrong property... Thats certainly strange considering i only changed the contact details to his house, and the price for the quote didnt change (id surely expect it to if the property i insured changed!). I also wasnt presented with any 'final confirmation - check these details are all correct - page' which i would have expected. Oh well ill just look at the confirmation email and double check.
Checked my confirmation email.. no details whatsoever.. just 'thanks for buying here is your reference number'.
I did notice it said, register with our website now you have a policy, and you can view/edit your policy details. Great i though id just log on and check / change details if necessary.
Tried to register on the website... 'Sorry we cannot find your details at present call our customer services on this number: xxxx'
So i called customer services....
tried on the hour every hour for 3 hours to be kept on hold, the phone would finally stop playing music and ring, then an automated message saying " We are currently experiencing a system fault.. please call back later " (if there is a fault why not tell me straight away rather than keeping me on hold!!!).
FINALLY got through to the call centre, and had great difficulty explaining my problems to the lady on the end oo the phone (who was very nice.. but based in an indian call centre and couldnt speak very good english making communication difficult).
However after about an hour of being passed around and being put on hold was told " we cant find your details on our system, it can take time for them to appear, please call back in 24 hours ". So although i was baffled as to how something electronic (and something i was given a reference number for.. so that must have come from somewhere... )should take 24 hours to appear on a system i had had enough, thanked the lady and left it.
So today i tried again and HOORAH! i could register with the website! GREAT!!
.. um.. or not... When i go to the policies section of my account im greeted with..
Home Insurance:
You currently have no policies with us.
*sigh*.
Called customer services again, explained my problems, said it may take 48 hours..
Im baffled how in this day and age it takes 48 hours jsut for ANYBODY within the company (or myself) to even be able to VIEW the details of a policy i have paid for just to read the address of the property insured to me (payment has been taken by the way so i know its gone through). Im also confused as to why i was given a policy number since it appears to have been created magically and doesnt actually exist.
I know i have 14 days cooling off period to cancel my policy with them, but im HOPING they can just change the address and let me be done with it. However my patience is wearing really thin right now.
Anyone else had any issues like this?
ON a random side note im getting LOADS of calls from random numbers.. usually leaving automated mesages, after using confused.com yesterday to search for quotes. Really annoying as i was 110% certain to tick all 'do not contact me' boxes. GRR!!
lol sorry rant over.

now 48 hours and still unable to speak to anyone who can even confirm i HAVE a policy wth them (despite having been provided with a reference number on payment which appears to point to nothing) and despite payment being taken. This is a joke.
And whats more annoying is im still getting automated calls AND emails from MoreThan trying to sell me car insurance ! UGH!
