N70: how to turn off the annoying Nokia starting tune.

Hi

I wonder if anyone can help me.

I cannot find a way to turn off the annoying starting tune on my N70. You the one which plays when you start up your phone...and its bloody loud!!!

it cannot be done i'm afraid.

the only way around it is to:

a) never switch it off (use the offline mode)
b) press any button repeatedlay to negate is making the sound when turning it on

annoying i know as the volume of the startup tune has no correlation to the ringing volume set on the phone!

Is it not in the menu then? Other Nokia phones have this in Phone Settings > Start-up tone (on Nokia 3120 menu 5 5 8 2 turns it off)

Before turning the phone off, press and hold the hash key (#). This will activate the 'Silent' profile. Then when you switch it on and it has started up, press and hold hash again to return to the 'General' profile.
