Thanks, I didn't know that. Think they're on a Virgin Media package though.

Virgin charge an arm and a leg to call 0870.

VM users can cut the cost of calls to them by using 18185 via their 0808 freephone number.

That's a really good attitude! I wish my mam was like that! :rotfl:

Unfortunately, my mam wants to speak to me once a week, every two weeks maximum, or she gets upset (and I'm a postgrad aged 24!!). So it doesn't really matter whether she calls on a mobile or landline - she's gonna call anyway!

Oh well can't help in that case, unless you give her my number and I'll have a word.
At least she cares, maybe I don't care enough, * runs off to call son to see if I'm a good parent* :rotfl:

msn is a good way of communication does she use that?
I wonder if he blocks me till he wants something. We have quite a laugh on there and helps with on the spot cooking instructions too.

There are 01/02 alternatives for some university systems; it is a case of working them out. There are also threads on many universities' systems in the Requests section.

I suggest you post there with some information and see how we can help you.

Is there an alternative 'calling from abroad' number given?

If it's in the form +441xxx xxxxxx, then your parents can dial 01xxx xxxxxx.

    What uni/phone provider is it?
