This year my resolutions include to loose weight. I have gained a dreadful amount of weight ( & I do mean dreadful) since my son was diagnosed with leukaemia. He is now fine but comfort eating and drinking has taken it's toll :-[
I would also like to gain confidence, particularly in my work environment. Who knows that could come with the weight loss?
Happy New Year & good luck with all your resolutionsNow thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -
Happy new Year everyone & Westangel I'm glad your son is fine now!
My resolution is to stop using the deobit card and move to cash again for two reasons
1 I can't remember the blasted Chip & Pin numbers
2 It may curb a bit of impulse spending if I know that I only have a certain amount of cash on me.
Also I was going to make a note of everything I save on multi buy & BOGOF purchases and put the equivilent amount away to save but since the terrible events in Indonesia we have decided a s afamily to donate any savings to the appeal on top of what we personally and our church have donated. Hope it helps these poor people out a bit.0 -
My new year's resolutions are:
1. be more organised. If I see things that need doing, do it straight away rather than put it off.
2. Be tidier and put things away so that I don't lose things.
3. Organise time better and actually try and use my spare time more efficiently.
4. Save more money from this site and donate more to charity
5. be more considerate of other people's feelings and try to spread a little happiness.
Happy New Year, everyone.0 -
I want to:
1) completely sort out my finances and move to a cash economy
2) start recycling
3) look after my garden and grow more food
Good luck everyone! It's not WHAT you know, it's WHO you know0 -
Don't make my own onions cos they a bit too strong for my liking. Make chutneys and piccalilli every year. Chutneys great way to use up excess veg of most descriptions. When I make jam I only make one jar at a time, in a microwave. This is better with it having no preservatives in.
PS Sorry Caterina - wasn't trying to hijack your thread ;D
No problem Mink, it is always great to talk about food hehehehe
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
1. Overhaul finances & start moving towards cash.
2. Lose at least 1 stone.
3. Make more efficient use of my time (i.e reading intelligent books or going to art exhibitions rather than watching TV!)0 -
well, I decided not to make resolutions, just havea phrase I wanted to stick to so I decided that 2005 is going to be the year of 'seizing opportunities'.
however...........I have since decided to add a couple of resolutions -
1. To drink more water (aiming for 2 litres a day).
2. To become a better money saver and get round to switiching suppliers for gas electricity etc.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
I'm going to plan meals for the week while I'm at home so I can see what food I have and so only buy what I need. If I cook double the quantity I'll freeze half and write in my diary to have the second half in two weeks time. This will mean I get things out of the freezer in time and don't have to resort to convenience foods.
Oh I'm also opening a bank account for direct debits and bill payments so that I don't get caught out by spending money that should have been going elsewhere.
So hopefully I'll be more organised, more healthy and save money.0 -
