Evening all, was just lurking from the pregnancy thread whilst Ebaying. Just wanted to add to the discussions on A&L if you have their savers account that usually gets automatically set up you can transfer the money from the current account to the savers then back again the next day. I've always left it the day to be safe. HTH someone.

You're doing what's best for your little one and for you - don't let anyone else even think of judging you. You're a great mummy.

I worry about Molly dying too, but I wouldn't say I'm obsessing over it - just when I see something about a child dying I give her an extra squeeze and thank whatever I'm thanking that it wasn't her.

I did with my shiny ear thermometer. Until Husband bought a bunch of plastic covers and appropriated it as a super-German butt thermometer for Molly :rotfl: :rotfl:
Feelie - SS is right! You are doing what you think is best (and I have to say I agree much more with your style ;))

:eek:at bum thermometer I could never take anyone's temp that way I cringe when I see dogs having it done _pale_

I was told about it about six weeks ago when I went in to change my address (thought it was about time, after living here for two years!). Finally got a letter about ten days ago, although I admit I didn't read it properly, just realised what it was about and it spurred me on to find a new account :o

    Thankyou 32b, I hadn't thought about that! :D

Caz, our letters only arrived today about it.

DH had heard Martin Lewis talking about it the other day and applied for another account with Halifax which rewarded you for depositing £1000 each month so if you ended up overdrawn, the reward would outweigh it. He received an e-mail saying he was refused!!

We are never overdrawn (occasionally into the normal £100 allowance), have been customers since we were young, and haven't tried to claim back charges or anything so disgusted that they have rejected it - obviously because they have realised they won't make money from it. We will be moving our accounts elsewhere. Surely they will be losing a lot of business from this!?

I know, it's horrible and I hate it. But at the hospital the midwives wouldn't accept a temp taken any other way, and our paediatrician is the same. I think the Germans are just bum-happy :o

I think the new accounts are:-
    1. pay in £1k a month and "only" be charged £1 per day you're overdrawn, or
    2. interest free overdraft for a monthly fee of £12..

    Info here:- http://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/bankaccountshome.asp

I switched to Halifax because of the old pay in £1k+ and get 5% interest, but I don't pay £1k in anymore and won't if I got back to work part-time like I want.
