Skinty can I ask how valuable you found having the doula there? I'm considering it, but wondering whether I really NEED one IYSWIM? :D

Are you having another one? I have to say, I couldn;t have done it without my doula, but I could have done it with her and without the MW if get me, so I'd say she was vital. That's mainly because we were at home, and because she helped oH a lot, but I'd definitely want one (actually, mine) if I were in hospital as she helped keep me calm and explain things, and generally I felt supported by having her there.

GLAM - how was the bath? We bathed Lilia tonight for only the fourth time. I go in with ehr and this time she actually smiled and seemed to like it. I have the water hotter than they say you should, and much deeper too. I find if she can be immersed in it to her chest while straddling my leg then she is much happier.

I also BF her in there if she is grizzly, and focus on having fun rather than washing.

Tongiht she seemed to really like it. Daddy is there to dry her off and get her in her sleep nappy and sleepsuit, then when I am dry I feed her off to sleep.

Seesm to me they need a few baths before they decide it's not going to kill them!

  • Glam - Liam gets in with either me or OH, or on his own in his chair. He likes it warmer too and deep enough to get his chest. When he is in with us we pop him between or legs and splash him with water, then he has 5 mins or so lay down with just his head supported so he can have a good kick and splash :D love it!

    ETA; I like that!

And scruffy, thats a challenge but doable. I would pack most things and sort at the other end.

OOh! Congrats Weezl! My mate is due in April too. :)

Yes, I wash her most days. More than a top n tail, I basically strip wash her, but she has hated baths so we've been easing her in gently.

Probably won;t do one every day yet anyway but nice to have it as a tool for bedtime.

I have no AF yet - only 3 months in and exclusively BFing so i guess won;t come back for a while yet.
