Its so weird seeing another baby who is so close in age to mine!?!?searching_me wrote: »3 shes in year 2 but the school barely has enough money for teaching assistant and most of them are free through the local college system xWe pay for our school ones!
I'm sure thats wrong - i'm trying to google to find info! It's supposed to be free for all children...................
This is despite the fact that learning to swim is as compulsory a part of the national curriculum for key stage 2 - ages seven and eight - as maths is. Government guidelines state that by the time children complete primary school, they should be able to swim 25 metres. About 80% achieve this, the department for children, schools and families says.
"Schools cannot charge for providing swimming for their pupils, but they can ask for a voluntary contribution to the costs involved," says the DCFS spokeswoman. And this is what more and more schools are having to resort to, because pool closures mean the local baths can now be an expensive coach ride away.

Awww... I melted when you told us about Poppy being car sick for the first time and saying "oh no Momma, oh no"

Ah, elle! I felt really bad at the time as her voice sounded as though she thought I would be upset that she had dirtied her clothes, bless her
.
It hasn't happened again since and I'm hoping it doesn't for a long time yet!
