Someone has stolen my lovely little girl who wore pretty dresses, and swapped her for a trainee emo!
The outfit she chose consisted of......... black t-shirt, day-glo pink boyfriend style cardi, black ra-ra skirt, day-glo yellow leggings, black and white check converse style boots and matching hairbands/accessories in day-glo pink and yellow!:eek:

Also, for anyone who hasn't experienced Liverpool City Centre, its packed with 'fashionable' people, and she kept pointing out people who are 'cool', because obviously i'm not! All of them were the scruffy student types (sorry Mel! :D), in day-glo, jeggings, big hair etc.
Oh dear - what am I going to do!

Mel - I'd be absoulely furious if I didn't get so much as a text on my birthday! My parents are pretty rubbish, but i'm sure they wouldn't forget/ignore my birthday!

X-factor - Danyl was the best, even with the rubbish song! And i'm gutted Robbie wasn't on, he must be on tomorrow. Thats the only reason I watched.

Oi I ain't no scruffy student...although I have just bought two hoodies to wear to uni:rotfl:
Happy birthday to Liv for tomorrow....and I have to suffer those 'big hair' types every day at uni:eek:

X-Factor - Robbie is on tomorrow, I caught it at the end of the show.....I love Robbie:o

Elle - Well done on Rhys feeding from you....he is doing well and I love seeing pics of him, he has changed so much, Fingers crossed that his communication skills won't be as bad as you think they might be, but I agree that it is always best to plan ahead 'just in case':)

    MFD
    - I keep forgetting to say well done on Benjamin crawling:T Kai will probably never learn to crawl he still hates being on his front, always has done:rolleyes: Then again to be perfectly honest I am in no rush to encourage him to be mobile....I think the more kids you have the later you want them to walk and talk:rotfl:

I am still a bit gutted about being ignored on my birthday by my family but hey...I'll get over it and it is just another 'thing' to add to my notes on how to be a crap mum...that way I can try and do the opposite of all of them and be a great mum:D

    Mel x

wonder if sami got her leg over on the first night ?? lol

    I was wondering too! :rotfl:
I am glad you do!! I think me and my mom are BSL snobs!! I am not convinced that it is really any more difficult than Makaton (thanks for the spelling!) especially for the limited signs taught at Baby Signing...and I am equally not convinced of the need for a 'simpler' language as they get older (BSL is so simple/obvious/pictoral)

The study is looking at whether the signs for 'milk' 'more' and 'nappy' and the 'please' and 'thank you' signs stop babies from developing the words for these at an early stage...and then stop them developing supporting words later (because they are used to one sign meaning what they want to say).

The study could go either way though and will never be conclusive because you can't make the same child twice and try it a different way second time ;):D

Chris is learning a bit of makaton and BSL, but he doesn't use it! He knows all the signs and will do them if you ask but he hasn't clicked that he has to do them to help people understand what he says, he just does his own gestures (he uses his full body so gestures rather than signs).

Elle, ask your HV about any of the groups who use 'proper' signs but it is pretty easy to learn, we were given sheets. Nursery staff know more than me right enough, one problem with him getting SALT at nursery and not at home.

Sruffy, I'd be interested in a copy please :D

    Morning All :hello:

ETA. Read back to last night's discussion. TinyTalk baby signing uses a form of BSL.

    Night night MM xx

For the morning, mirror suggestion :)http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/94890300

    Oh I like that :D
MM do you have someone to fit the carpets coz that will be expensive if you don't? Or can I suggest carpet tiles, not sure on price or suitability but if she spills/stains one it is easily changed you could go for 2 tone and they are easier laid than carpet!!!!
We have never got anyone to fit a carpet for us, have always done them ourselves, and the laminate  If the room is square enough, its fairly easy.

Right we noticed last night that the weekend before Jasmines birthday, when we were going to do her room, is when we are going to MM in Belfast !!! So we now have to do the room in 2 weeks time as the weekend after her birthday is her party :eek:
    2 WEEKS
I will be on occassionally today, but most of it is going to be spent measuring the room, going to B & Q for paint, going to my mums to pick material for the curtains and searching for accessories online. Think from the look of it, I will get all the furniture in Ikea though, so will need to go a day through the week. Does Ikea stuff come flat packed? I am thinking of how it will fit in my car :rotfl:
The two best things I have done with my life
    :TDD 5/11/02 :j DS 17/6/09 :T
STOPTOBER CHALLANGE ... here we go !!
  • MM - Dulux paint is 2 for £20 at B&Q - handy if your planning on using two colours.

It's all flat pack at Ikea - I'm always surprised at how much we can fit on the car, including a king size mattress in a Pug 306 :D What car have you got? remember to take out parcel shelves, car seats etc before you go.

We fitted two triple wardrobes, two chests of drawers, a bedside table and alsorted bedroom accessories in OH's Focus estate but it was almost dragging on the floor back up the M1! :rotfl:
