Hope everyones keeping well. Love the new avatar MM!!! Its ringing a few bells of my last halloween when Darach was a vampire.
I had Cliodhna dressed up as a pumpkin tonight, and Darach was a spider. Sharon was a monster. I will try to upload a photo if I can remember how to do it. Im on my second glass of wine and feeling a bit giggly
As for feeling broody, my hormones must be in overdrive, I've been feeling broody since Cliodhna was born. Im still waiting on the hospital organising my sterilisation (sp)

oh yeah, in my user pic, you may notice that Amber is sitting up with support now
It seems really amazing that she is doing that because Chris didn't sit up till over 6 months, and just over a year unsupported. So Amber seems really advanced when really she is probably just normal

STOPTOBER CHALLANGE ... here we go !!0 -
Hi, sorry i am slowly working through all the posts
Elliot hated the acidic sick that came up, made his eyes water. The gaviscon helped to neutralise it, more then stop the sickness completely. Also when he was being weaned-we learnt what foods made the sickness worse, ie some foods are high in acidity anyway ie tomatoes and fruit jelly really didn't agree with his tummy. Even now-i avoid ceetain things, even the ready cartons of growing up milk make him sick.
If there's anything you want to ask, i'm hereAF, this may be a rather contraversial answer to your reflux question
as some on here know, i took seth to the doctors several times and ended up in tears either in the surgery or on the way home, cos as seth was putting on weight well the doctors refused to prescribe him anything more than gaviscon to help him, he was crying constantly and bringing up stomach acid all the time. the gaviscon was weighing down the milk but by the time it was a little digested, the milk had gone through/started to go through and we were left with the problem of stomach acid. i couldnt lay him on his back cos sick would dribble out the side of his mouth, and i couldnt lay him on his front cos the pressure on his belly would bring it up even quicker. i ended up sitting him upright on my lap, which he didnt like cos he is a wriggle bum, or putting him in his bouncer, which gave him a bit of a flat headbad mummy
the only thing the doctors kept telling me that when he could walk his muscles would strengthen and that it would ease off then. so when FIL brought over DSD's walker from the loft and seth loved it, we decided to see if using that would help to strengthen his muscles, and it did, cos the reflux disappeared in about a monthit helped that he loved it from the word go!
i know that walkers arent recommended cos of the tippy toes thing, but TBH if its an issue i think its just going to have to be one of those things we have to deal with. also, his head is starting to fill out again, and i'd rather tippy toes than a properly flat head!!
in other news, i feel terrible this morning, really sick, but when i eat it goes away  i've only ever had this once before  i hope i'm being paranoid, its not like i'm late or even due on or anything :eek:Aww poor babybasic things to help are - keeping them upright as much as possible, especially for up to 30 mins after feeds; elevating the head end of their cot a bit so they're not fully horizontal; small-but-frequent feeds rather than huge ones. Then you can get Gaviscon Infant easily, either by prescrip or over the counter if you can talk the pharmacist into it - it basically puts a neutral layer of gunk on top of the stomach to settle it. Otherwise, if it starts to become a real pain, you need to talk the GP into either referring you or prescribing more serious stuff. Elijah is on omeprazole (reduces amount of stomach acid) and domperidone (speeds up stomach/digestion function) and has been for maybe 6 months now. Made a big difference.

thanks everyone for your replies.
we aren't having too much of a problem with LO being sick which is why i didnt think reflux was still a problem for us, therefore we aren't back on gaviscon.
the doc thinks it's reflux because of her frequent waking during the night, talking some milk and then going back to sleep again.
i was a lot more relaxed about her waking last night as i felt there was a reason why it was happening.
i am having trouble (like redmel) at the minute with getting her to eat as well, but she is happy having milk. the doc said to still be giving her the same amount of food over a 24 hour period, just smaller portions more often.
i have put her wedge back in with her so hoping that will help her too.
as for the walker, we have one and she loves it. i keep it on the lowest setting at the minute and she doesn't spend hours on end in it. i have found it has given her some independance away from me which we were needing. she only starts to go 'mamma ma' when she is getting tired or fed up of being in there.
