Oh and I wanted to say, I do try to keep track even when not posting and I noticed that I might have not come across properly in a post I made the other night as it was commented on the next morning. :o When I said I would like to go back and live 30yrs ago I wasn't referring to racism (as I'm sure that was as bad if not worse) but about how we looked out for each other a little more and you knew the people who lived around you.

:) Sorry if i upset anyone. XXX

grr i put a sign on the door saying no trick or treaters, baby sleeping, and some stupid kid of about 10 has just banged my door down and asked me to read it to him  then when i wouldnt give him anything for being rude (and cos i have nothing in) i think he egged the house  i heard a thud on the outside wall anyway. i hate halloween, no child of mine is ever going begging!

and AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH the F***ING car with the alarm that keeps going off has parked outside my F***ING house again and the F***ING alarm is going off AGAIN, it parked there last saturday and kept going off every half hour til 3am!!!! might have to put a brick through it, at least it will then have a reason to beep pointlessly

Hi Jenny. Congrats on the birth of Erin.

Re the foof pain, I also had a 2nd degree tear and I was told to put witch hazel on the sanitary towel to bring out the bruise and help heal quicker and must admit it did help. I also took paracetemol and ibuprofen at the same time which helped to ease the swelling and keep the pain tolerable. Also make sure to keep it clean, though this is hard when you can't feel anything down there, but don't use soaps or anything smelly.

Didn't actually remember to take the arnica, despite spending £5 on it, so can't tell you if that would help or not.

    Hope it eases up soon.

    hi all,

would love any advice from others who had reflux issues with older bubs (keely???)

she isn't being sick really, it's more that she is getting pain from some fluid coming up (but not so far up to make her throw up). this would explain her frequent waking at night (where she always wakes crying - not thudding on the crib with her feet as weezl too experiences with fergie).

    xxx

Aww poor baby :( basic things to help are - keeping them upright as much as possible, especially for up to 30 mins after feeds; elevating the head end of their cot a bit so they're not fully horizontal; small-but-frequent feeds rather than huge ones. Then you can get Gaviscon Infant easily, either by prescrip or over the counter if you can talk the pharmacist into it - it basically puts a neutral layer of gunk on top of the stomach to settle it. Otherwise, if it starts to become a real pain, you need to talk the GP into either referring you or prescribing more serious stuff. Elijah is on omeprazole (reduces amount of stomach acid) and domperidone (speeds up stomach/digestion function) and has been for maybe 6 months now. Made a big difference.

Hey SM, hope you feel better soon.

Question: Any tips for easing foof pain? I had a second degree tear, not sure if that is contributing to the aches or if its just general pain after having a baby but it's quite uncomfortable.

I gave up on the bath thing, when I did eventually see a MW (5 days after getting out of hospital) she couldn't suggest anything. I prefer showers anyway but thanks for all your advice.

No foof here, but OH absolutely swore by the doughnut-shaped pillow I got her soon after. Think it was designed for piles sufferers but same difference
I think baths are mainly for the tears. Tea tree and lavender oils and so on.

Oh yes, reflux.. I'm still not wholly convinced Rhys has it as he never seems in any pain with it, but he's on Domperidone and Ranitidine (aka Zantac), the latter if the one to stop it hurting - perhaps it is working!

    Grrrrr.

OH just started a fight with me about my smoking again. Jesus I've cut down from 25 to 10 a day but no that's still not good enough. It's not going to happen overnight, and he says Im spending all the money again because I asked him to go over to lidl to get a cheap bottle of vodka (£7) so I could have a few drinks before going out and pouring some into his hip flask for town - It's £3.50 a nip in town - So if I just drink in town it will cost a LOT more.

The best thing for him to do if he isn't happy with me spending "ALL HIS MONEY" as he says, is leave, and go live with his mum where he can keep all his wage to himself. I told him this but he won't leave.

How can I make a living? When I'm watching Keira all the time? When I have 2 hours when she is at nursery? I don't have a CV, as I asked him to help me weeks ago and he didn't do it. I can only do evening jobs, but really whats the point? I'd spend all evening working, and come home to a pig sty, spend the next day cleaning it for it to be repeated again.

He moans about me, he moans about my cats, he moans about Keira when she interrupts him during his gaming time, and I told him if he shouts at her again for that I'll bloody jump on his ps3, Im not putting up with that. He needs to get his prioritys right.

I am going to go cold turkey with the cigs tomorrow, but if I manage to quit this time, and he is still moaning about money and whatnot afterwards then he is going, I'll phone his mum myself, because I look back on myself before I met him and I was happy, I liked myself, I was normal, fast forward 4 years and what am I? Someone with serious issues, Im unhappy, Im lazy, Im stressed, I hate myself.

Still going out but I'll probably end up crying at some point. Just tired of the aggro in this house, I wish I didn;t have to nag, he doesn't appreciate anything I do. I could clean the house top to bottom, clean the doors and windows etc, and he wouldnt even notice. Seriously.
