eBay Phone Purchase, no warranty?
I bought a HTC Touch Diamond off eBay in Jan off a private seller. Phone was a few weeks old. It has now gone faulty (ie warranty issue).
As it's under a year old, is there anywhere I can get it repaired from under the warranty, or am I looking at a private repair at my own cost?

Contact the manufractuer, they have the serial numbers to know how old the phone is.
You might come unstuck if the phone was registered in the buyers name intiially - otherwise it will be covered by the manufacturer's 1 year (min) warranty.0 -
Well popped into a CPW repair centre yesterday to try my luck. The scanned the phones IMEI and no match on their system (ie wasn't sold by them), so they took my details and said they'll send off to HTC for repair. Wasn't asked for proof of purchase, and the repair note stated free repair.
Will wait and see how it turns out, may get charged something, but would have had to pay for private repair anyway.0 -
Normally you will be contacted before the repair is carried out if they find the fault is out of warrenty, or cannot be repaired foc to tell you how much it will be. If you dont agree to the cost then they return the phone without repair and you could look at other repair options. please note though i say normally - i cant guarentee this will happen. Can i ask what went wrong with the phone?10k in 2010 - £350.77 :beer:0

The power button on the top of the phone stopped working. Was perfectly fine then stiffened up and is now completely unresponsive. Had it since Jan and no issues before now.
Thought it better to try a warranty repair, was expecting them to ask for my receipt, but they didn't. Would imagine they'd ask first, but as it's gone to HTC through an authorised repairer hoping they'll just do it!0 -
They should do esp if its a known fault, so long as no water damage etc im sure you will be fine!10k in 2010 - £350.77 :beer:0
