Not best please with Vodafone...

...got my online bill today. With approx £40 of roaming charges incurred whilst I was on holiday in France in August.

Turns out that the roaming at UK rates for Vodafone Passport members didn't apply to ALL Vodafone Passport member just the ones on certain tarrifs. I am on Total Business 750 as I own a small business and have 6 phones for myself and staff. I pay them a not inconsiderable sum for minutes I never use each month as calls between the group of mobiles are free.

On checking their press release of May 2009 this is the small print :-

Reducing the cost of roaming for businesses
Vodafone UK business customers on Anytime or Your Plan price plans will also benefit from the same three month Vodafone Passport promotion from June 1. Customers on these plans and already on Vodafone Passport will automatically qualify for the promotion. Non Vodafone Passport customers can opt in by calling their account manager or visiting https://www.vodafone.co.uk/businessroaming for further information.

I really think they could have made this clearer and feel very annoyed that I seem to have subsidised everybody else's free calls!

  • Memory serves me right, if passport was activated on your account during this time then a text message would have notified you, as i got one due to been with them at the time.
You could complain a few times to customer services and see if you get anywhere, but i do not feel they will back down on a charge of £40. They will usually offer goodwill payments (£50) on larger sums such as £200+.

There is a vodafone rep on this forums who maybe able to offer further advice.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies

    Hi ascot64

It's never nice to come home to a bigger bill than usual.

If you would like me to take a look into this for you send me an email from here with WRT135 in the subject line and in the body of the text make sure you include a link to this thread and I'll investigate for you.

    Thanks
