Why do they have such an inflated idea of their own skills and abilities that they think they can do all these jobs without any training?

I still don't get why they're moaning. The GP is taking time out of their day, after doing a possibly full day of surgeries with house calls to any elderly/severely disabled patients, to fill out a form which will take longer than 5 nimutes (more in the region of half an hour) This is their OWN time, so yes, they7 will charge private rates for it, just as if anyone of us did overtime at work and got paid the appropriate OT rate for it. This is what the GP is doing, charging for their OT rate which will not be covered by their salary from the surgery!** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.

I get fed up with the attitude that people (most notably) in the health and legal sectors are super-intelligent superhumans who are never wrong any must never be questioned - so I guess we are even. I am just as qualified and skilled at my job as they are at theirs, and I certainly don't know everything.
A system for filling in a few standard questions is little to do with having the knowledge required to be a GP anyway, it is more to do with basic common sense regarding work processes and efficiency. Given the huge cost to the taxpayer in training and paying GPs it is not acceptable for these extortionate charges to be levied - particularly as in this case it is on a student, who can ill afford it.0 -

A little stereotypical, no?April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200 -
I find it quite strange that you all have GPs that fill in these forms!

At my local GP surgery a huge proportion of report/form filling work is shifted to admin staff or practice manager (including lengthy legal/insurance reports). The GP then signs off on the form/report. On this basis, I do feel the OP's £59 charge is a rip-off, because if the questionaire is relatively straightforward, the only time consumed by the GP will be for signature.
Just to add, OP if you have started your course, you'll be eligible to use the university medical services, I'm sure they'll fill the form for free.0 -
Read this and then re-evaluate if you think £59 is an "excessive fee"

Again - a little stereotypical, no.
That said, there is something quite hot about male junior specialist trainee surgeons and all that testosterone and semi-arrogance
