NOOOOOOOO - bidding on too many items!!!!!

I recently bidded on a mobile phone and my max bid was £130 which was accepted and at the same time I also bidded for the same phone form another seller for £155. I done this because, I thought the first seller wont accept the best price offer or whatever you call it, i have about £160 in cash, but the £155 phone ends in 22hours, i asked the seller to cancel my bid, it could be risky as i could get a neg feedback or something.

They mite think im a time waster or something, i just bidded on 2 items and really thought that i wont win one of them and now am on course of winning the second. In total i wil have to pay £285 which i havnt got. I explained this matter, should I just remove my bid? but then i have to enter another bid. that could be against eBay regulations.

All advice welcome, and trust me I need the advice!!!

Oooppss! I hope your second seller is feeling kind and cancels your bids.

You would be breaking a rule if you retracted your bid and didn't enter a new amount. Are you the only person bidding on it? If not, could you retract and enter a small amount?

No im not the only one, the other bidder has bidded £150 and before that was just me. Im not sure what to do, if i retract the bid will eBay notice? would I get suspended even if I was to explain the situation and plus it would be my first time. Though, it wouldnt look that good as i only got 1 feedack. Ive been soooo stupid.

    Thanks milliejon.

You can just put your reason as entered wrong amount, i've seen it done many times

You'll break the rules if you retract with wrong amount entered, but don't add another amount.

Ebay won't notice, unless the seller brings it to their attention. I've had this happen to me twice but I never reported it.

It does however, show in your feedback.

What shows in the feedback? that youve retracted bids? Can I just retract the bid and sa wrong amount? wont nothing happen? I explained but the seller may get the wrong idea, i probably would have if i was selling and someone was in the same situation as me. Hope i sort this out, im short of cash anyway and bidding for two of the same phones is gonna rip my bank open.

I had a guy from USA bid on something then ask the postage cost. He then retracted his bids. I then had to cancel them (as I didn't feel it was fair to the other bidder). This ended up going back down to the starting bid - I was very annoyed.

Sorry about the spelling mistakes, just saw them now, i wasnt looking whilst typing. i've retracted the bid because there are only 11 hours to go before the item is in its final 12 hours and its unlikely the seller would reply by then, lets just hope he/she doesnt report me.

To be honest if I was the seller I would prefer a buyer removing their bid rather than not paying after the auction. I would however check that it wasn't becoming a habit before deciding on what action to take.

We all screw up on the odd occasion, but it is a dangerous game to play bidding on mutiple items at the same time!
