    Thanks Honey2
Found it. Looks like that is what hey have based their decision on as it also states about the policy being for 5 years and pre exising med conds.Although I am still really shocked at it. The same was on our form and i'm sure everyone elses.
It must be because she didn't put any other reasons down for the mis sell

I'm sure she will be ok when she appeals. She needs to go on the link marshallka posted yesterday. It is really useful and i'm sure it will help with her appeal. As you said, it's a pity she didn't ask for help with the form, but as you say she was embarrassed. I can understand that as my daughter never told me until things were really desperate and that was all through embarrasment
    Good luck to her.
Has she started the appeal process.

Know the feeling well:D for sure you will get back the whole of the ppi and however many months interest you have paid. marshallka knows how to work the interest out, i'm not very good at that.
I think she worked out that 20% of my monthly payment went towards the PPI:confused:

has she got somebody to help her with the letter, two heads are better than one;) I would want a copy of the recording to ensure they were not mistaken and it was my actual call

Also to take time when compiling all the details to ensure everything is covered. Even if it takes an extra day or two to send it off, it will be worth it to make sure it is correct

Just thinking, when FSCS receive the letter, they will no doubt send you out an appeal form this time to complete . All info has to be on an official form.

I take it back about phone calls! Really surprised they would have to do that!
Do you know if your friend was a priority or low reference number?

Think I may have to think about sending the extra information ! Now very scared!
What reasons did you give for mis selling pinknico

    Hi Busbyh

They did received a phone call from a Deloitte claim handler, think it was in and around May 09 - asking questions about the loan and the PPI - they were asked if they could remember the name of the sales person from Picture that had dealt with their loan through to completion! Deloitte said they needed as much information as possible in order to investigate their claim, if I recall they were asked to send a copy of the agreement.

When I received a call from Deloitte I was just asked to confirm who I was and asked for a copy of the credit agreement which detailed all the figures. I then received a second call 10 min later after they realised I had already sent a copy to the FSCS and a 2nd copy was not required.

    Hope this helps

    Honey 2 xx:j
If deloitte ring and ask for sales person name,if you do know it, dont say:mad: just to be on the safe side

So they had the booklet and papers to look over prior to signing for the loan??? Also do they have a copy of the application form. My application with a loan with Firstplus actually has all the PPI boxes "unticked" and also the questions that were asked about reading literature for the PPI are also left blank prior to signing the agreement, I did not tick anything cause i did not want itand did not read anything cause we did not want it. If they had the application from Picture then perhaps they do something similar?? Also was your friends loan advised or non advised?

I remember asking for a screen print of my application from picture, and they could not provide one.:mad:convenient:mad:

My reasons for mis selling were for the loan taken out in May 06(interest rate 7.9% )were:

5 year policy. paid over 25. No figures for total amount to pay on PPI or Loan. Single premium. Sold as a saving plan.Nothing explained.

Top up knew what I was getting but didnt think I should have a whole new policy just for a top up, especially as still had to pay off a chunk of the first
policy that was cancelled. Hospital cover was on my demands and needs but you have to be 65 to qualify with this policy! Genuinly did not know I could get a policy anywhere else cheaper and monthly.
Should never have been given this top up. I wasn't working by this point so how they could justify upping the loan on just husbands wage is beyond me.They never spoke to my husband or did any checks I am sure!

Things I would add in appeal only just found out in original policy I was not covered for accident , sickness etc and I was employed as well. They never spoke to my husband EVER!
My husband already had life insurance in place but was never asked this and still felt had to take policy.

Feel I will not win my claim as we dont have any pre existing conditions and this seems a common factor on the people who were successful and person who were not.
