  • you should be able to, as long as the pictures meets the government guidelines: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/travelandtransport/passports/applicationinformation/dg_174152

alternatively, where's your nearest max spielman? They'll take six digital pictures of your daughter on a grey background for £6.

Note especially the guidelines on backgrounds
  • Most branches of boots have a photo machine.
  • Glad you got your photo sorted. I know you are rural but most large supermarkets have a photo booth. Hope she enjoys her trip.
  • can I just advise everyone that home produced photographs are not acceptable

next time take your photo with your camera, then go to a site called e-passportphoto.com. You upload the photo, it shows you the required areas that are necessary for your passport photo. It has bars across which have to line up with your chin and the top of your head so you get the right sixe photo, and you print it off. I have used it for passports many times. Really simple(well, if you have a digital camera and printer it is.lol)

And it's totally free so very MSE!!

I second BillTrac's recommendation! Have used it myself and if you get them printed via some free Tesco's or Jessops photos offer to collect in store then you get them totally free.

You can advise people if you wish - however you are wrong.

As long as they comply with all the guidelines home produced ones are perfectly acceptable
  • Jessops don't have a photo booth here, but they had an area where we could get passport photos done. It was for our little ones, so they just had a circle held behind their head and the photo was taken. They actually gave us two sets for the price of one, because one wouldn't be accepted.
